X-ray fluorescence material analysis
X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF), also called X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (RFS), is one of the most commonly used methods for material determination. The advantage of XRF over spectral analysis is that the material is not damaged.
An X-ray fluorescence analysis provides information about the chemical composition of a material. We use this test method particularly frequently for our customers in mechanical and plant engineering and in the metalworking industry when it is a matter of determining or checking alloy components. XRF instruments are also suitable for rapid PMI (Positive Material Identification) testing on construction sites. In this way, it can still be determined afterwards whether the correct material was used.
