Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) - Fluorescent
By viewing under UV light, fluorescent penetrant testing achieves significantly higher sensitivity levels than conventional dye penetrant testing. The method is used in particular for aerospace components.
Fluorescent penetrant testing can be used on all non-absorbent materials that have a flaw open to the surface. A fluorescent liquid is applied to the component or area to be tested, which penetrates the smallest cracks and makes them clear. Once the liquid is removed, the flaw can be seen using an appropriate UV lamp.
Our experienced inspectors are all trained and qualified in PT according to DIN EN 4179 in our own NANDTB-NDT training center. Testing is carried out according to relevant standards, customer standards or manufacturer specifications. Should special surface preparation be required prior to testing or final preservation of the component, we are available with a comprehensive repertoire.
