Destructive materials testing

In order to determine material properties, it is not always possible to avoid destroying the workpiece to be tested. We test for you according to proven procedures and thus help to ensure consistent quality.

Hardness test (HV, HB, HRC)

The hardness of a material is defined as indentation strength and is determined by measuring the indentation depth with a defined indenter and force. The following applies: the smaller the indentation by the indenter, the harder the material.

In this type of destructive materials testing, the component is cut open or ground at the point to be tested, or samples are taken. In this way, metallic microstructures of materials can be evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively.
