Zeppelin is an aviation tradition for more than 100 years - whether welded assemblies, component or on-wing testing, training or consulting: our aviation experts are ready for you with coordinated solutions and the corresponding approvals.

We are certified as an aviation manufacturing and maintenance company in accordance with EASA Part 21 G and EASA Part 145 and know exactly what is important in production and testing for aviation components: we are allowed to confirm the aviation suitability of the manufactured components with a "Form 1" certificate.

Internationally, we demonstrate our skills through our DIN EN 9100 certification and accreditation in the field of Nadcap Welding and Nadcap NDT. Our experienced welding experts and our Level 3 inspection supervisors will be happy to advise you on establishing and maintaining your own certification and accreditation.

Through the National Board, we are recognized as an NDT training facility for materials testers and provide hands-on training for testers in accordance with DIN EN 4149 and NAS 410. In our DVS welding school, welders receive their aerospace qualification according to DIN ISO 24394.

On-wing inspections

If an aircraft has to be grounded for technical reasons, fast and competent help is needed: to restore airworthiness, Zeppelin tests according to the procedure described by the manufacturer with personnel qualified according to aviation standards.

Eddy current testing (ET)

Eddy current testing is the method of choice for conductive materials, especially when it comes to detecting surface cracks or near-surface defects located under multiple layers or under a non-conductive coating.

Ultrasonic testing (UT)

If the inner surface of a component is not accessible, ultrasonic testing is usually used to find defects. For example, aircraft structures can be inspected reliably or wall thickness measurements can be carried out on ships.

Penetrant testing (PT) - fluorescent

By viewing under UV light, fluorescent penetrant testing achieves significantly higher sensitivity levels than conventional dye penetrant testing. The method is used in particular for aerospace components.

Magnetic particle inspection (MT) - fluorescent

If ferromagnetic components can be magnetized in a DC or AC test bench and evaluated under UV light, maximum display sensitivity is guaranteed. Even the smallest cracks and imperfections are reliably detected.

X-ray inspection (RT) Non Film

Even though the technical procedure for X-ray remains the same, digital storage media such as imaging plates have become increasingly popular in recent years. In addition to the recyclability of the films, the rapid availability of the images is a plus.

NDT Consulting

The selection of the right test method requires a lot of experience. Often, defects can only be detected in combination of several methods. Our test supervisors, experienced according to DIN EN ISO 9712 / DIN EN 4179, will guide you safely through this step.
